Should I upgrade to Genesis 3.1.0?

As per 26 August 2019, we are still working to optimize all our themes to work with Genesis 3.1.0. Genesis made a few big changes to their framework script and layout setting in this latest update.

Skyandstars.co is managed by 1 person (which is me ;D) so it will take some time to optimize everything to 3.1.0.

Is it OK to not upgrade?

An upgrade is advisable but it’s ok to not upgrade the Genesis framework in a hurry. Before the upgrade, make sure you contact me (via email/etsy/contact form) and ask me every time, should I upgrade? I will answer immediately.

What to do if you already updated to Genesis 3.1.0?

You can still use our theme, the most significant change is the footer credit. The genesis_footer_creds_text filter is now deprecated. You will see double copyright text on your footer area after you upgrade.

To fix this, go to your theme customizer (Appearance > Customize) > Select “Theme Settings” > select “Footer”. Remove everything in that box and publish.

Got error messages after an upgrade?

Contact me! Invite me as admin to your blog dashboard so I can take a look at the setting. Or send me screenshot first when you contact me.

I will update this post with the list of updated themes!
